Assistance Information:
We maintain a list of people and agencies  that, for compensation, perform various tasks for the elderly.  This list is composed of people who provide companion and homemaker services, nursing duties, transportation, odd jobs, etc.  The family in need of such assistance assumes complete responsibility for checking into the qualifications and references of the provider and negotiating their own financial arrangements.

Income Tax Assistance:
The AARP tax volunteers provide tax assistance to elderly Farmington residents during the tax season.  Appointments are made through the Services for the Elderly office.

Vial for Life:
This program provides vital medical information in the event of a home emergency.  A plastic vial containing an information sheet is stored in the refrigerator.  A magnet on the outside of the appliance informs emergency personnel that vital statistics are available.  The Vials for Life are provided by the UConn Medical Center.
